In this recent project, we had an opportunity to return to a property we had worked on over a decade ago. This project had originally won us an award, we were happy to come back. The task given was to make the design of the kitchen match the mountain traditional style project from before. With warm woods and strong neutrals, our direction was simple.
Remodel Features
Major features of the kitchen’s facelift include the matching wood tones of the beam and the Milarc cabinetry that warms up the space. Those cabinets, paired with a Typhoon Bordeaux granite countertop and Petra tile backsplash, give that signature Mountain Traditional touch familiar to Colorado homes. This project embodies that style.
Bringing the Mountain in
One of our favorite details is the beetle kill pine slabs our team added as additional shelving. Using this type of wood is a great way to re-purpose the diseased trees we are familiar with here in Colorado. Since it doesn’t affect the integrity of the wood, you are left with a sustainable and unique wood with hints of blue. It’s a perfect detail in this true Colorado kitchen.
