A recent remodeling project led us to a couple who had their heart set on having a music room in the basement of their home. Once the original four elements came together to give their basement the face-lift it needed and deserved, the Tatman family decided to take advantage of our team’s skill set and add more remodeling projects for their basement to our list!

The new and improved basement already has a guitar wall of fame, a rock star stage, custom cabinet wall and workout room. As our clients watched their music room and workout space take shape, they decided they wanted the entire basement transformed into a more functional, family-friendly area. A full kitchen with granite countertops, custom wooden cabinetry, a large bar space, stainless steel appliances and a tile backsplash was added. The light wooden cabinets and dark gray backsplash create a beautiful contrast that the overhead lighting beams down on.

While the kitchen is its own distinct space, it is also open to a spacious living room with a gas fireplace that includes custom stonework and a wood beam mantel. An additional bedroom and full bathroom were also added to help create the ideal dream hangout spot!

Lighting played an important role in softening the entire space, bringing a feminine touch to the neutral more masculine decor. A dark and gloomy room on any floor of your home isn’t ideal. In addition to natural lighting from the windows, we added sconces and recessed lighting evenly throughout each room. At any time of day, this family-friendly basement is properly lit for relaxing.

Throughout the space, the Tatman’s chose beautiful finishes and features to compliment the room. From darkly stained wood accents to custom lighting and luxury floor choices, this space is a true masterpiece!
